TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:  Dental hygiene tools, Eaglesoft and HMS computer software

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Using dental instruments and hygiene equipment, performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.

• Instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.

• Assisting a high number of patients as required.

• Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers.

SKILLS/EDUCATION NEEDED:

• Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license

• Must have a current/active CPR certificate

• Knowledge of dental terminology

• Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices

• Skills using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.

• Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.

• Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) – highly preferred

• Pediatric Experience – highly preferred
